The King Faisal Center Participates in "Fighting Extremism" Conference in Berlin

Secretary-General of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, Dr. Saud Alsarhan, participated at the conference "Fighting Extremism: Towards Sustainable Communities," which was held in the German capital Berlin from 13 to 15 November, 2017, in the presence and participation of a number of academics and experts in the field.
The conference, which was organized by German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ), discussed the options and methods used in the education sector to combat extremism and the mechanisms to strengthen its resistance, especially among youth. The conference was made as a platform for participation, discussion and dialogue at an international level.
The conference also included five panel discussions focused on the methods used in the education sector to address the issue of extremism, its causes and reasons for spreading, the mechanisms of designing political programs, and innovative projects to prevent it.
