KFCRIS hosted "The Arabian Narrative" lectures and workshops

The King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) hosted "The Arabian Narrative" lectures and workshops under the theme "Transmisson of Knowledge from, and to, the Arabs: the Classical Narrative" between Monday February 27th and Wednesday March 1st, 2023. 

On Monday February 27th, HRH Prince Turki AlFaisal, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of KFCRIS, inaugurated the events in the presence of HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh. It was followed by the opening lecture by Professor George Saliba (Founding Director, Farouk Jabre Center for Arabic and Islamic Science and Philosophy) entitled “The Arab Roots of the Development of the Scientific Movement in the Arab-Islamic Civilization.”

On Tuesday February 28th, two events took place: the workshop chaired by Professor George Saliba entitled "The Emergence and Development of Arab Scientific Thought: The Formation of Narratives and Histories,” and the public lecture delivered by Mr. Thomas Milo (Founder, DecoType) entitled “Preserving the Arab Heritage in the Digital Age: The Vision.”

On Wednesday March 1st, two more events took place: the workshop chaired by Mr. Thomas Milo entitled “Preserving the Arab Heritage in the Digital Age: Technical Barriers and Their Solutions,” and the public lecture delivered by Professor George Saliba entitled “Did the Arab just Transfer Knowledge? Arab Astronomy and the Influence on the European Renaissance.”
