UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures participated in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair

The UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures at KFCRIS with the support of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission is pleased to have participated in establishing its dedicated section within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s pavilion at the 34th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, held from April 26 to May 5, 2025.

The pavilion highlighted the objectives of the UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures, the languages it focuses on, and this year's themes: “Translating Cultures in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” and “Translating Cultures and Intangible Heritage.” The Chair's section was well-received by visitors, offering rich content and an engaging experience through which they explored the Chair’s diverse activities and initiatives.

Professor Moneera Al-Ghadeer, Chair of the UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures, attended the book fair and held a series of meetings to introduce the Chair, its conceptual framework, and its objectives focused on promoting cultural research and cooperation. She also engaged with researchers and specialists to discuss this year’s themes, exploring opportunities for collaboration and participation in the Chair’s initiatives.

Professor Moneera emphasized that the Chair's participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair represents a strategic opportunity to introduce the Chair's initiatives and foster collaboration with research institutions in Translation Studies, Cultural Studies, Intangible Heritage, the Humanities, and Artificial Intelligence.
