KFCRIS held a panel discussion on Wednesday, August 1^st, 2018, entitled: "Understanding Western Approaches to the Study of Islamic History and Origins of Islam”, In the presence of Abdullah Al Saud the Director of Research Department at KFCRIS, and a number of academics and researchers.

The panel focuses on sources, studies, and translations in Europe since the Medieval, which were used to understand Islam, history and Islamic sciences. In addition to the emergence of departments of Arabic and Islamic studies at the Western educational institutes, as well as their interest to study and understand Islam, and the approaches that were used to achieve that.

The panel concluded with an open discussion among participants.
