The Secretary-General of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, Saud Alsarhan, participated in the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences, which was held at the World Trade Center in Moscow on October 29-30, 2018.

The conference was attended by senior Russian officials and a large number of politicians, diplomats and academics from all over the world. They participated for two days in a number of panel discussions. The conference discussed the role of modern oriental studies, the modern knowledge system and curricula, economic and political studies related to this field, orientalism and advanced curricula in political science, economics and other sciences, analyzing their methodological problems and seeking solutions in order to give new impetus to academic knowledge.
