KFCRIS Honored at the Conclusion of “Ramadan Nights” Exhibition in Recognition of Its Contribution to Enriching the Exhibition Experience

Date: 2025-07-29

The King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) received special recognition during the closing ceremony of the exhibition “Ramadan Nights: Chapters from Islamic Art and Travel Literature,” held at the House of Wisdom in the Emirate of Sharjah since March 2025. This honor was in appreciation of the Center’s active participation in the exhibition, as the only international institution contributing unique intellectual and cultural content that captured visitors’ interest and drew the attention of those passionate about heritage and Islamic thought.

This recognition crowns the Center’s notable presence and its esteemed status in the fields of research and heritage. The Center’s participation was a key highlight of the exhibition, featuring a display of some of the rarest manuscripts related to travel literature in Islamic civilization, presented with a scholarly vision that aligns with its mission to disseminate knowledge and document history.

The exhibits included the manuscript “Surat al-Ard bi al-Tul wa al-‘Ard” by Abu al-Qasim Ibn Hawqal, rare manuscripts by the famous navigator Ibn Majid, and a digital copy of al-Idrisi’s manuscript—vividly illustrating the intersection of geography, travel, and knowledge in Islamic heritage, and enriching the visitors’ cultural experience.

The award was received on behalf of the Center by Mr. Saleh Albukhan, Head of the Restoration and Conservation Section, and Fahad Alowais, Head of the Museum Collections Section, during a ceremony in which Ms. Marwa Al Aqroubi, Executive Director of the House of Wisdom, presented honorary awards to the participating institutions.

This participation is part of a series of initiatives by the KFCRIS aimed at strengthening its presence on international cultural platforms and reinforcing its position as a leading institution in heritage preservation and knowledge dissemination. The Center continues to offer unique scientific and cultural content that bridges past and present with a refined and contemporary voice.
