The King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies organized a workshop on the 27th of March, entitled: “The Future of Saudi European Relations,” in cooperation with European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). Dr. Saud Alsarhan, Secretary-General of KFCRIS, was in attendance along with a number of diplomats and political experts.
The attendees discussed the Iran nuclear deal and the different viewpoints that EU countries have towards it, as well as Iran’s regional policy and its effects. They discussed the European and American debates around the deal, and whether it was more appropriate to fix it or repeal it.
They also discussed Vision 2030, the potential challenges to realizing it, its generational and economical aspects, and what can be learned from the recent challenges in Europe. A few of the attendees pointed out the serious challenges to realizing the vision and analyzed the different approaches that can be taken to address these challenges.
