Photography Exhibition on the Occasion of the 90th Anniversary of King Faisal’s Visit to Warsaw in 1932


    

Following Poland’s independence in 1919, a new era began in the relationship between Poland and the Arabian Peninsula. After King Abdulaziz laid the foundations for the establishment of a unified Kingdom in 1930, His Majesty’s envoy Khalid Alhakeem visited Warsaw in 1930. Poland recognized Ibn Saud as King of the Hejaz, Nejd and its Dependencies in the same year. Poland was the nineteenth country to establish diplomaticrelations with the Kingdom, following a decision to do so on March 11, 1930. After he was appointed as a Foreign Minister in 1930, King Faisal visited the Republic of Poland in 1932, which was his first visit outside the region as a Foreign Minister. Where he was received by Poland’s Marshal Jozef Pilsudski and President Ignacy Mościcki, upon this visit, Prince Faisal was awarded the Order of the Rebirth of Poland (First Class), the highest honor in the country, by President Mościcki. also showcasing photos that emphasize the depth of the bilateral relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Poland.

       

 

On Tuesday October 11, 2022, HRH Prince Turki AlFaisal, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies (KFCRIS) inaugurated the photography exhibition in Poland to commemorate the 90th anniversary of King Faisal's visit to Poland in 1932, in the presence of Professor Jacek Popiel, the Rector of Jagiellonian University and a number of officials, diplomats, intellectuals and experts from various cultural fields and media. Through the cooperation between KFCRIS and Jagiellonian University, the exhibition was held at the campus of Jagiellonian University in Krakow until 21 October. This important exhibition commemorates King Faisal’s visit to Poland on May 27, 1932.
